The area is protected under Manaslu Conservation Area Project 1998 AD that covers a total of 1,663 square kilometers. The program works closely to preserve and uplift the natural resources, cultural heritage, and wildlife to promote eco-tourism of the region.

The highest point one can reach during the trek lies at an elevation of 5,235m at Larkya La Pass from where we can have commendable views of the western and far western peaks of the Himalayan region.
